What do you think are some of the best books that got made into movies? How about some of worst? I'd say my favorites are Fight Club and The Outsiders.

Fight Club was definitely well done though I still don't think it full bring's Palahniuk's story to life. Though I think only he'd really be able to do that. Jurassic Park is actually one of my favorites in that realm. I forget if it was the book or movie first when it came to Lost World, but that wasn't nearly as good, in either respect. I read that Memory Keeper's Daughter is being made into a movie, that could be good. My all time favorite though is Ghost World, though that was from a comic book rather than a novel.

I liked Fight Club, but I agree it didn't measure up to the book. I read a movie to book adaptation once actually, for The Good Son. Movie was decent, but the book was awful.

I think most of the time book to movie is done terribly. Clockwork Orange is probably my favorite. Running with Scissors and Girl, Interrupted were both done well too. I'm in the middle of reading The Memory Keepers Daughter right now. I saw that Lifetime is turning it into a movie, which I was excited about, but its airing this Sunday night and I usually like to wait until I finish the book to see the movie. I'll just have to make an exception. Or read more quickly.

Loved it! I mean it's tough to go up again the book but it still was very touching.

In my opinion, the best adaptation ever is "Carrie", directed by Brian De Palma, based on a novel written by Stephen King.

But, if I count the comics, the best adaptation ever is "Sin City", directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller (Special guest director: Quentin Tarantino). The second is "V for Vendetta" (I don't remember who directed this movie...)

A Clockwork Orange is great. I love book and movie.

From S.King books Carrie, Green Mile, The Shining and Misery are my fave adaptations.
